What are the benefits of switching to a heat pump?
Heat pumps are a low-carbon way to heat a building. They work by absorbing heat from the air outside and transferring it into your property. This means they are much more efficient than traditional gas boilers, which generate heat by burning fossil fuels.
Heat pumps can potentially save you money on your energy bills (subject to tariffs). This is because they are more efficient than gas boilers and because they run on electricity, which is anticipated to be the cheaper form of energy than gas in the very near future.
The strong industry belief is that electric taxes will be lowered and natural gas taxes increased very soon to further push the eco heating switch.
Air source heat pumps - general principle
Air Source Heat Pumps work with radiator central heating systems, underfloor heating systems and warm air convectors. They can easily be connected to your hot water system and are suitable for both commercial properties.
An Air Source Heat Pump is placed outside of the property and extracts heat from the outside air. This is absorbed into a fluid at a low temperature. Then, this fluid is passed through a compressor which increases the fluid’s temperature. Finally, it is transferred at a higher temperature, via a condenser to your heating and/or hot water system.
William Freer Green provide expert design, supply and installation. Heat pumps are a renewable energy technology which converts energy from the air into heat. This process delivers super efficient, green, low cost, energy saving heating and hot water all year round.
Business Benefits
There are many benefits which make them a great investment for businesses. Theoretically Air Source Heat Pumps are cheaper to run than combustion based systems (subject to energy tariffs) and require less maintenance than traditional heating systems.
With William Freer Green having in house mechanical, gas, electric and F-Gas engineers all in house (direct labour) we are able to facilitate these installations in a seamless continual visit, minimising site disruption and overall project cost to the client.
With many different government funding schemes William Freer Green have partnered with Lochinvar to offer technical advise and free EPC reports* to enable a smooth government funding submission process.
